The New York State Cannabis Farms Tour: Sponsor a Seat for Marginalized Professionals & Students.

FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

AUGUST 30, 2024. NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK. The New York State Cannabis Farms Tour Seeks Businesses to join the Sponsor-A-Seed Program which allows local businesses to sponsor a seat on the tour for marginalized professionals and students exploring career options in the Cannabis Industry.

The New York State Canna Farms Tour—designed to showcase the incredible journey from seed to sale at the finest farms and processing centers in the New York State region—has launched. These tours are not just a retreat from the city—they are a bridge connecting passionate consumers, enthusiasts, educators, and students of plant medicine to the dedicated growers and producers of New York.

Current supporters of the initiative include local NYC Cannabis dispensaries and businesses Honey Pot Treats and Trends Wellness Dispensary who sponsored lunch and seats for two Hospitality Pathways Students. Hospitality Pathways mission is to empower individuals with the essential job skills required for sustainable employment, livable wages, and career growth within the cannabis industry, regardless of their zip code. The recent Hepworth Farms Tour allowed guests to witness and unpack how ideas are manifested into products safely and according to industry standards.

The OG Social Network has collaborated with pioneers in the cannabis industry like Hepworth Farms, Hudson Cannabis, Canna Cure, Green Spectrum CBD, and Goldfinch Flora to create unique, educational experiences for New York’s growing cannabis business and agriculture community. The tours are an intimate exploration of where nature meets innovation in the world of cannabis cultivation.

The tour was created with marginalized professionals and students in mind who are the primary targeted group for organizers. With that comes the problem of affordability and accessibility for lower-income individuals. To help solve this problem, Businesses will have the opportunity to “sponsor a seat” for young business professionals and students as a testament to their commitment to supporting and growing inclusive cannabis spaces.

“These educational opportunities have to be accessible to our young black and brown professionals. The businesses who have become “successful” in the NYS Cannabis space have the opportunity to invest in marginalized communities in a creative and impactful way. Our hope is that the tour and sponsor program can accomplish this together with the NYS Cannabis community.” Poppa Dukes, Organizer of The NYS Canna Farms Tour

The tour also includes breakfast, lunch and roundtrip transportation to and from the farms and processing centers solving the issue of accessibility for many New Yorkers.
