SOTU 2026: A Long Walk to Nowhere (With a Side of Grift)

By Michael PoppaDukes Serrano

The 2026 State of the Union: A masterclass in saying absolutely nothing for nearly two hours.

I hope you had a strong pot of coffee. It was needed if you tuned into the State of the Union (SOTU) address last night. Better yet, I hope you had something from your favorite local dispensary. We were treated to a one-hour and forty-seven-minute marathon of cognitive wandering. It was the political equivalent of a GPS that keeps saying “recalculating” while driving you directly into a swamp.

A swamp that was supposed to be cleared years ago.  Remember?

As the Executive Producer, I’ve seen some wild things in the world of The OG Social Network Podcast. As the Host, I’ve observed many surprising events in politics. However, watching a sitting president try to navigate a teleprompter was something else entirely. His internal hard drive clearly hit the “spinning wheel of death.” Last night wasn’t merely a speech. It demonstrated how far a trailblazer of mediocrity can push the patience of the American taxpayers.

The Pros and Cons: A Very Short List

Let’s be fair and start with the “pros.” The best part of the speech was undoubtedly the end. When the gavel finally came down, a collective sigh of relief echoed from the halls of Congress. It reached the living rooms of every citizen who had stayed awake. Another pro? The lighting was great. The person responsible for the President’s makeup deserves a raise. They’ve managed to make a man, who looks like he’s seeing through time, appear somewhat three-dimensional.

Now for the cons. Where do we even start? We had nearly two hours of rhetoric that managed to touch on everything and resolve absolutely nothing. It was a “long walk to nowhere.” It was a verbal treadmill. The US Law and the Constitution were treated more like suggestions than the foundation of our republic. The “State of the Union” is apparently “confused,” “over-leveraged,” and “waiting for its nurse.”

The Tariff Tantrum vs. The Supreme Court

The President attempted a direct attack on the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on tariffs. It was one of the most combative moments of the night, if you can call a mumbled grievance “combative”. He demonstrated a staggering lack of understanding of checks and balances. He called the Justices “roadblocks to progress” because they suggested the executive branch doesn’t have unlimited power. They argued against the power to tax the hell out of the American people under the guise of “national security.”

He spent a solid ten minutes rambling about how his administration knows better than the highest court in the land. It’s funny how the Constitution is a sacred document when it suits the narrative. Yet, it becomes an “outdated piece of parchment” the moment it stops him from unilaterally manipulating the economy. The taxpayers feel the burn of these trade wars. Meanwhile, the elites in D.C. treat the economy like a game of Monopoly played with someone else’s money.

Law enforcement and political demonstrations continue to clash as the administration pushes its agenda.

The Removal of Rep. Al Green: Democracy, Or Just a Bad Episode of Survivor?

Then we have the drama surrounding Rep. Al Green’s removal from the House. The President touched on this with the smugness you usually only see in people. It’s akin to those who have successfully cheated at a board game. The message was clear: if you aren’t in lockstep with the regime, you’re out. It’s a dangerous precedent for our politics. Dissent is treated as a crime. The halls of Congress are being purged of anyone who asks too many questions.

It’s ironic that a president claims to be the “great unifier.” Yet, he presides over a government that resembles a high school clique. In this clique, the unpopular kids get kicked out of the cafeteria. Watching him try to explain the “necessity” of such actions was amusing. He tripped over words like “institutional integrity” creating a peak moment of unintentional comedy.

The Long, Drawn-Out Speech on… What, Exactly?

At one hour and forty-seven minutes, this was the longest SOTU on record. And what did we get for our time? A whole lot of “fixing the problems the other guys caused.” It’s the classic political move. First, set the house on fire. Then, hand the owner a garden hose. Finally, ask for a standing ovation for your “heroic firefighting efforts.”

He touted economic policies that 6 in 10 Americans say have left them worse off. He told us not to believe our own eyes. He told us not to believe our own bank accounts. He also said not to believe the price of food at the grocery store. It was gaslighting on a global scale. He spoke about “building up military forces” and “protecting the border” (see https://theogsocialnetwork.com/news-sitemap.xml for our previous coverage on these empty promises), yet the reality on the ground remains a chaotic mess.

Enrichment and The “First Grift”

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room that wasn’t mentioned: the blatant enrichment during his time in office. The average person is struggling to keep their business afloat. This is especially true in the volatile cannabis industry we cover at The OG Social Network. Meanwhile, the President and his inner circle seem to be doing just fine. Their portfolios are a game-changing success story of “lucky” timing and “unrelated” foreign investments.

It’s amazing how one can enter public service with a modest net worth. They can exit it with a real estate empire that would make a tycoon blush. But hey, keep paying those taxes, folks! Your hard-earned money is clearly going to a good cause: the 2026 presidential retirement fund.

The Silence on the Epstein Victims

The most glaring omission was the lack of acknowledgment for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein. This makes the nation’s skin crawl. All the documents are being unsealed. There are ongoing questions about who was actually on those flight logs. You’d think a leader concerned with “justice” and “protection of the vulnerable” might mention it.

Nope. Total silence. Radio silence. Like in space silence. It’s almost as if bringing it up might make some of the people sitting in that very room a little… uncomfortable. For a podcast that prides itself on “Relax, Relate, Release,” there was no “release” of the truth last night. Just a heavy blanket of “ignore it and it’ll go away.”

Who’s Actually in Charge?

The most heartbreaking part of the night was watching the President’s mental faculties taking a literal vacation mid-sentence. It was occasionally hilarious. At one point, he seemed to be telling a story about a train trip. The trip may or may not have happened in 1974. He then pivoted to the “vital importance of AI-driven semiconductor domesticity.”

He looked confused, as if trying to remember if he left the stove on. At the same time, he was trying to explain the theory of relativity. It’s a significant problem when the “Leader of the Free World” struggles to find the stage exit. A handler must point a laser pointer at the ground.

Summary: A National Nap

The 2026 State of the Union was a bloated, self-congratulatory exercise in futility. It was an hour and forty-seven minutes of a man losing his way through a forest of his own making. We saw:

  • Attacks on the Constitution and the Supreme Court.
  • A complete dismissal of the economic reality facing taxpayers.
  • The continued purge of political rivals like Rep. Al Green.
  • A suspicious silence on the most significant scandals of our era.

At The OG Social Network Podcast, we believe in transparency, community, and the unfiltered truth. What we saw last night was the exact opposite. The actor gave a scripted performance but forgot his lines. The director was only interested in the craft services.

If you want the real breakdown of how these policies affect the streets, the farms, and the culture of New York and beyond, you know where to find us. We don’t need a teleprompter to tell it like it is.
